I built this crevice garden last year, but never posted on it. It certainly isn’t easy to photograph, maybe that’s why!
I’ve also killed most of the original cacti. I have barrel cactus, prickly pear, and mangave remaining. I’ve also replaced many of the dead cacti with agave pups that I’ve dug up from around the yard.

Last fall I transplanted several of the Cemetery White Irises to the front bed, along the drainage ditch. I decided that I’d like to add some color there as well, so put in large order to Schreiners.
I wrote down the order of planting, so in a few years when they are ready to divide, I’ll know what’s what.

If you’ve seen the “Free Range” commercials by Geico then you understand our new neighbors chickens and peafowl. Luckily, we don’t mind too much, but once the peafowl get bigger and more destructive, we’ll see how I feel.

It wasn’t intentional, but somehow my back garden became almost entirely purple. I get some columbine in the spring, and some turk’s cap and betony are currently blooming, but other than that, all shades of purple.
