As all Austin gardeners know, this has been a really rough spring.
Really cold winter, no rain, late freeze.
I was beginning to doubt whether anything was coming back this year. (I still have my doubts on quite a few plants) I walk around every day looking for some sign of spring, and here’s what’s blooming in my garden.
I smelled an aromatic sumac in full bloom at Natural Gardener last weekend. Wow, those are yummy. I’m putting that plant on my wish list.
Here’s hoping for some rain real soon!
Yep, today’s spittle doesn’t count!
I think I’ve appreciated the blooms we have more this year because of the cold, the dry, the wind. Nice photos of your blooms.
Thanks! Yes, we definitely can’t take any for granted this year.
I am so excited because I am starting to see signs of life in my own garden. I am so ready for spring!
All the way in NJ huh? What are the first signs of life you are seeing?
